Chamomile’s flowers contain flavonoids, which help alleviate skin redness and discomfort. It is commonly incorporated in cosmetics to bring back softness to the skin and reduce the look of dryness. Its anti-inflammatory properties are the primary reason why it is used by cosmetic companies. Two terpenoids – chamazulene and bisabolol – demonstrate anti-inflammatory properties in animal tests. Additionally, matricine, apigenin, and luteolin are other active constituents that provide antioxidant activity.
