Reveal a visibly brighter, more even-looking complexion with Reviva Labs’ Dark Spot Brightening Serum. This advanced formula combines eight well-known brighteners to help reduce the look of discoloration and uneven skin tone.
Use daily on its own or with other Reviva brightening products for a complexion that looks clearer, smoother, and more luminous.
Dark spots and uneven tone rarely come from a single cause. Sun exposure, inflammation, and slow cell turnover all leave their mark in different ways, which is why a serum built around one brightening ingredient often stalls out. Reviva's Dark Spot Brightening Serum takes a broader approach: eight well-established brighteners, working through four distinct pathways your skin uses to build and hold pigment.
Skin produces pigment through an enzyme called tyrosinase. Kojic Acid, Arbutin, and Licorice Root Extract are three of the most established natural ingredients for helping interrupt that process before discoloration has a chance to fully form, which is part of why they're so often used together rather than alone.
Existing dark spots sit in skin cells that eventually shed on their own, just slowly. Glycolic Acid, an alpha hydroxy acid, helps accelerate that natural turnover, encouraging pigmented surface cells to make way for newer, more evenly toned skin underneath.
Even after pigment forms, it still has to travel from deep in the skin up to the visible surface. Niacinamide, included here at a substantial 5% concentration, is formulated to help interrupt that transfer, which is part of why it's become one of the most widely used brightening ingredients in modern skincare.
Environmental stress and free radical exposure can trigger new pigment production before you ever see it on the surface. Vitamin C and Resveratrol are formulated to help defend skin against that oxidative stress, while Bearberry Leaf Extract contributes its own naturally occurring arbutin content, reinforcing the tyrosinase-blocking effect from a second, plant-derived source.
Discoloration doesn't form the same way twice. A sunspot on the cheek, a mark left behind by a blemish, and years of cumulative sun exposure on the hands all involve different processes, which is why treating them all with the same single ingredient rarely gets the whole job done. Dark Spot Brightening Serum brings together four distinct pathways in one formula, so your skin is getting a coordinated approach instead of a single point of attack.
Interrupts the skin's natural pigment-producing process before discoloration has a chance to fully form.
Helps pigmented surface cells shed faster, making way for newer, more evenly toned skin.
Included at a substantial 5% concentration to help stop pigment from reaching the visible surface.
Helps shield skin from the environmental stress that triggers new spots before they appear.
Apply morning and/or evening to areas of discoloration and allow to absorb completely. Because this formula contains an alpha hydroxy acid, daily sunscreen isn't optional, it protects your results and your skin, since AHAs increase sun sensitivity.

SUNBURN ALERT: This product contains an alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) that may increase your skin’s sensitivity to the sun and particularly the possibility of sunburn. Use a sunscreen, wear protective clothing, and limit sun exposure while using this product and for a week afterwards.
NOTICE: PATCH TEST FOR SENSITIVITY ON THE UNDERSIDE OF THE ARM. THIS PRODUCT IS NOT RECOMMENDED FOR USE ON CHILDREN UNDER 12 YEARS OF AGE. DO NOT USE ON EYE AREA OR OVER CUTS OR IRRITATIONS.
Most people notice a visible difference in skin tone within two to eight weeks of consistent morning and evening use. Dark spots that have been there for years typically take longer to fade than more recent ones, so think of this as a daily habit rather than a quick fix.
View FAQIt can be, but this formula contains 8 potent ingredients, such as Glycolic Acid, an exfoliating acid, so sensitive skin types should patch test on the underside of the arm first and consider starting with every-other-day use before working up to twice daily. If irritation shows up, cut back frequency rather than stopping altogether.
View FAQYes. Dark Spot Brightening Serum is formulated to work across skin types. Oilier skin may tolerate daily use right away, while drier skin might want to follow with a moisturizer, which is common with any serum.
View FAQYes, this one isn’t optional. Glycolic Acid increases your skin’s sensitivity to the sun, and sun exposure is also one of the main triggers that creates new dark spots in the first place. Skipping sunscreen while using this serum works against what the product is trying to do.
View FAQYes, it layers well with most routines. Apply it to clean, dry skin before heavier creams, and if you’re also using a retinol or another acid-based product, consider alternating nights at first so your skin has time to adjust.
View FAQNot typically. However, some users may experience mild tingling during the first few uses. That’s often the Glycolic Acid and Kojic Acid at work, and the sensation typically fades as your skin adjusts. If you experience persistent stinging, redness, or discomfort, scale back to every other day until your skin acclimates.
View FAQIt’s formulated for facial use, but many customers also use it on hands, chest, and other sun-exposed areas with visible discoloration. Just patch test any new area first, skin on the hands and chest can react differently than facial skin.
View FAQUnless you have dry skin, most people don’t need additional hydration, though since this is a serum, the majority do follow-up by applying a moisturizer. This brightening product pairs well with 10% Glycolic Acid Creme, Kojic Acid Brightening Cream, or our Multi-factor Brightening Creme.
View FAQThis serum contains a significant number of key brightening ingredients that will go to work on the hyperpigmentation. However, give it time to work. Improvement may take several weeks and will depend on the severity of the dark area.
