A limited edition lab batch starts as an experiment in our lab. Our team regularly explores new formulas, new ingredients, and new combinations, usually in very small batches meant only for internal evaluation. Most of these test batches range from about 12 to 16 ounces, which gives us enough product to assess performance, stability, and skin feel over time. Occasionally, ingredient minimums or production logistics require us to make a larger batch. Those runs can range from roughly 128 to 640 ounces. In the past, when a formula did not move forward for full production, any excess product was responsibly discarded after testing, even if the formula itself performed well. The decision often came down to timing, positioning, or business fit rather than safety or effectiveness. Recently, we changed how we think about those moments. During an internal strategy discussion, we asked a simple question. If a product has already been evaluated, tested, and proven safe, why not let customers try it too? With minimal additional work, these formulas can be packaged and offered in limited quantities instead of going to waste. Some of these products may never become part of our permanent lineup. Others sit right on the edge of moving forward and need one final signal. Real-world feedback. Customer interest. Actual demand. When enough people respond positively, a lab batch can cross that threshold and earn a place as a future release. So when you see a limited edition lab batch, you’re seeing a real product experiment, made in a larger-than-usual test run, offered in a finite number of units. Once it’s gone, it’s gone. And if you try one and love it, your review truly matters. Your feedback can help decide what becomes part of Reviva’s next chapter.
