Disodium Lauryl Sulfosuccinate (DLS), is a mild surfactant, produces foam when mixed with water and is used for cleansing skin and hair. Surfactants are partially soluble in oil and water, which makes it simpler to combine them in a formula and then wash them off.
This particular salt is made out of a lauryl alcohol and sulfosuccinic acid. It’s widely used in “syndet bars” (soapless soaps) due to its foaming qualities, and it can even temper the harshness of another surfactant, sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS).
