The advantages of eucalyptus globulus leaf oil for general wellbeing and skin health are numerous, including: it has anti-inflammatory properties, which can help to reduce inflammation on the skin; it possesses antiseptic properties which can be used to heal wounds caused by acne, psoriasis or eczema; and it has antibacterial properties which can help to eliminate any bacterial infection and thus prevent inflammation. This essential oil is produced by steaming the leaves of the eucalyptus tree and is a colorless, pale yellow oil with a camphoraceous aroma which is usually used in vapor rubs to treat coughs. Its primary element, eucalyptol (also known as 1,8-cineole, 80-91%) has strong antibacterial and expectorant properties. Among essential oils, Eucalyptus Globulus is considered to be quite non-sensitising.
