Built by Passion, Backed by Science, Loved for Generations

It all started with a man, a mission – and a refrigerator full of skincare.

In 1973, Stephen Strassler wasn’t following the market. He was following his instincts – and his passion for skin. As the first licensed male esthetician in the United States, Stephen had already spent years studying the science of skincare when he and his wife Judith decided to turn their tiny home into something bigger: the birthplace of Reviva Labs.

Their kitchen became a lab. Their fridge? A makeshift storage unit for in-process creams and serums. More than once, Judith would open the door looking for dinner ingredients only to find rows of experimental skincare formulas chilling beside the milk. “Stephen!” she’d sigh. “I can’t put anything in here!” He’d just smile. Because to him, this was serious work – and a labor of love.

Passion Fueled by Curiosity and Travel

Stephen and Judith didn’t stop at textbooks and treatment rooms. They traveled – across Europe and beyond – chasing whispers of beauty traditions, folk remedies, and emerging ingredients. They visited skin clinics in France, spoke with herbalists in Germany, explored oils and essences in Morocco, and studied exfoliation methods in Switzerland that had never touched American shores.

But they didn’t just admire what they found. They brought those ideas home and made them better. Back in their modest New Jersey workspace, they reimagined what they’d seen into innovative, effective, and affordable treatments for American skin. The now-classic Light Skin Peel was inspired by a European exfoliation ritual – but Stephen reformulated it to be gentler and more accessible. When they discovered how elastin helped improve skin’s firmness, they didn’t just talk about it – they introduced it to the U.S. skincare market.

Their goal was never flash. It was function. And every new discovery, every tweak, every formula was made with one simple question in mind: Does this really help people feel better in their skin?

More Than a Business. It Was Their Life.

Stephen and Judith didn’t build a brand – they built a legacy. They believed skincare should be effective, ethical, and affordable. No animal testing. No gimmicks. No empty promises. Just high-quality ingredients, often natural, sometimes clinical – but always with a clear purpose.

And somehow, through all the late-night mixing, all the cross-continental research, all the early conventions and salon partnerships, they managed to build something much more meaningful than a product line. They built trust. And over time, trust turned into tradition.

Shared From One Generation to the Next

For over 50 years, Reviva Labs has been passed hand-to-hand and heart-to-heart. It started with estheticians who used our creams in facials and sent clients home with a jar. Then those clients shared it with their mothers. Then their daughters. We’ve lost count of the stories from customers who say, “My grandmother introduced me to your Vitamin E Stick” or “We always had Reviva in our bathroom growing up.”

Inside our own walls, the story is the same. Families work together here – mothers and daughters, aunts and nieces – passing down knowledge, sharing stories, and continuing the mission Stephen and Judith started in their kitchen so many years ago.

When Stephen passed away in 2016, Judith held the reins with care. And even after her passing in 2020, Reviva remained under the stewardship of a family trust – still independent, still deeply rooted in its original values.

A legacy of skincare innovation

A New Chapter Begins – with the Right Hands

In 2024, something big happened. Reviva Labs was acquired by Sendayco LLC. And yes, we were cautious. But this wasn’t the story of a beloved family brand being swallowed up by a corporate giant. It was the opposite.

Sendayco is also a family company. One with shared values, a passion for natural products, and a track record of growing honest brands without compromising what made them special. Led by CEO & President Troy Augustine, Sendayco has supported Reviva not by changing who we are – but by giving us room to keep doing what we do best, even better.

With expanded manufacturing, streamlined shipping, and new opportunities to reach customers, we’re now equipped for the future – but still rooted in the past that made us.

Functional Skincare That Puts Skin First

We’ve updated the way we talk about our philosophy, but the principle hasn’t changed. We call it Functional Skincare – because it’s about what your skin needs, not what marketing trends say it should want.

We use natural ingredients when they work best. We use science when it delivers more. And we never include something just because it’s trendy.

Everything we create – like our Collagen Revitalizing Crème with bakuchiol and peptides, or our Vitamin C Serum, or our Glycolic Acid Toner with 4.2% exfoliating power – is built with performance in mind. No filler. No fluff. Just skin-loving formulas that support real skin in real life.

Built with Love. Carried Forward with Pride.

When you open a jar of Reviva, you’re not just using skincare. You’re touching a story. One that began in a home filled with handwritten formulas and cold cream in the fridge. One that grew through global discovery, family tradition, and deep respect for the power of healthy skin.

We’re proud to carry this legacy forward – not because it belongs to us, but because it still matters. Stephen never set out to be a skincare celebrity; he simply wanted people to look in the mirror and feel good about what they saw. That quiet, powerful mission lives on in every formula we create, every team member behind the scenes, and every loyal customer who tells us, “I’ve been using this for years.” We’re still Reviva Labs. Still a family brand. Still committed to skincare that feels right – because it is.

Building on 50 Years of Results to Shape Tomorrow’s Skincare

1968
Stephen becomes the first licensed “Male” Esthetician

Stephen earned his esthetician license in an era when men were rarely seen in the field. His work focused on hands-on education, skin physiology, and practical techniques that helped shape modern esthetics. This experience laid the foundation for the ingredient-first philosophy that later became central to Reviva Labs.

1973
Reviva Labs, Inc. is officially founded by Stephen & Judith Strassler

Stephen and Judith launched Reviva Labs with a simple goal: make skincare that works. Their kitchen became a lab, their garage became a packing room, and early products reached spas and small studios through word of mouth. The brand’s emphasis on results and ingredient integrity began here and never wavered.

1974
Pledged to be 100% cruelty-fee

Long before cruelty-free became a recognized standard, Reviva committed to never testing on animals. This early pledge reflected the Strasslers’ belief in ethical formulation and responsible skincare. It helped attract conscious retailers and loyal customers, setting Reviva apart in an era dominated by conventional cosmetic practices.

1976
Introduced safe, daily exfoliation

Reviva launched Light Skin Peel, a gentle at-home exfoliant designed for regular use. At a time when exfoliation was limited to harsh treatments or spa-only products, this formula offered a safer, more accessible approach. It quickly became a customer favorite and helped introduce daily exfoliation to mainstream skincare routines.

1978
Promoted Hyaluronic Acid in topical skincare

Reviva championed Hyaluronic Acid decades before it became a beauty-industry staple. The brand educated consumers and estheticians on its moisture-binding ability and its role in skin resilience. This early adoption showed Reviva’s focus on functional ingredients backed by real science, not fleeting trends.

1980
Promoted elastin as topical ingredient

Reviva helped spotlight elastin’s role in maintaining skin’s stretch and firmness. While many brands focused on heavy creams, Reviva supported lighter, ingredient-focused formulas that delivered visible benefits. This work helped introduce elastin to natural retailers and broaden consumer awareness of targeted topical treatments.

1985
Unveiled its Vitamin E-Stick Lip Balm

Reviva released its Vitamin E-Stick, a lip balm designed to soothe, protect, and hydrate without petrolatum. It quickly became one of the brand’s most recognizable products. Customers embraced its simplicity and effectiveness, turning it into a staple that’s still beloved decades later.

1992
Debuted ALA, VIT C ESTER, DMAE combination

Reviva introduced a forward-looking formula combining Alpha Lipoic Acid, Vitamin C Ester, and DMAE. This blend offered firming, brightening, and antioxidant benefits in a single cream—well ahead of most brands. It signaled Reviva’s commitment to pairing science-backed ingredients for targeted, visible improvements in skin tone and texture.

1999
Introduced Peptides to natural products

Reviva was early in bringing peptides—long used in clinical skincare—into natural products. These formulas helped support collagen and firmness while staying aligned with the brand’s clean standards. Reviva’s adoption of peptides expanded what “natural” skincare could deliver in terms of performance and results.

2008
Introduced Emblica combined with Vitamin C

Reviva explored new brightening technologies by pairing Emblica, a plant-based antioxidant, with Vitamin C. This combination offered a gentler, effective approach to evening skin tone. The launch reflected Reviva’s ongoing effort to blend botanical ingredients with modern science for safer, more versatile brightening solutions.

2016
Stephan Strassler Passes Away

Stephen’s passing marked the end of an era, but his influence remained central to Reviva’s mission. His belief in education, transparency, and functional ingredients shaped a company that continued to honor his legacy. The industry he helped build carried forward many of his philosophies.

2017
Celebrated shipping over a quarter billion skin care products

Reviva reached a major milestone, having shipped more than 250 million products worldwide. This achievement reflected decades of customer trust, consistent quality, and a loyal community of retailers, estheticians, and skincare users who embraced the brand’s results-driven approach.

2019
Debuted in-store demo brand ambassador program

Reviva introduced an in-store demo program designed to bring education directly to customers. Brand ambassadors offered hands-on guidance, ingredient insights, and personalized product suggestions. It strengthened relationships with retailers and helped new audiences understand the value of functional skincare.

2020
Judith Strassler Passes Away

Judith’s passing marked the loss of a co-founder who shaped Reviva’s story from day one. She managed operations, supported education, and helped bring Stephen’s early formulas to life. Her commitment and care remain part of the brand’s identity and its multigenerational following.

2024
Acquired by a new family – Sendayco, LLC

A new family-led ownership group acquired Reviva Labs, committed to preserving its legacy while accelerating innovation. Sendayco invested in product development, ingredient research, and modernized operations to strengthen Reviva’s reach while staying true to its results-first, consumer-trusted roots.

2025
Growth propels us into a 3x larger facility

Reviva expanded into a significantly larger facility to support rising demand, modern production needs, and improved logistics. The new space allows for faster fulfillment, expanded R&D capabilities, and a more scalable future. It signals a new chapter built on decades of steady, ingredient-driven growth.
