Argireline is the anti-aging peptide equivalent of the fountain of youth

Argireline^®, Lipotec’s trade name for acetyl hexapeptide-3 and acetyl hexapeptide-8, is a synthetic anti-wrinkle cosmeceutical ingredient that mimics the effect of botulinum toxin injections – but with less immediate intensity. This man-made peptide fragment penetrates the skin and interrupts the nuerotransmitter process (SNARE complex disruption) of facial muscles reducing their activation. By inhibiting muscle movement or through relaxing facial muscles, wrinkle formation is lessened or softened, respectively.

This topically- applied advanced peptide has been studied widely and appears to produce real-world results that have also been proven through clinical examination. Argireline has demonstrated its effectiveness at preventing repeated muscle movement (contractions) thereby helping to prevent wrinkle formation. By inhibiting the nerve firings that trigger muscle contractions, repeated motion wrinkles are prevented or lessened. Additional benefits to the collagen matrix formation have also been described and documented by Lipotec.

The tradeoff, topical application requires a much longer time commitment before results are observed, whereas BOTOX injections are instantaneous. However, unlike the risk factors and needles a drug injection requires, Argireline has proven to be relatively safe. Typical results require regular use for 30 days or more to produce a visible reduction in fine lines and wrinkles of up to 30% – according to various studies.

Argireline is an excellent anti-aging peptide that has shown to have strong benefits with continual use. As such, you’ll find it in some of Reviva’s anti-aging skin care.
