If you’ll be joining all the ghosts and ghouls for Halloween this year – let Reviva Labs help keep your skin looking great while you have fun! Today, I’ll be sharing some tricks on how to keep your makeup fresh while preventing any scary problems at the end of the party.

First tip

Whether you choose a Halloween look that is playful and colorful or dramatic and scary, wearing heavy theatrical makeup can really dry out your skin.  To keep your makeup looking fresh and to prevent it from flaking, you’ll need to properly prepare your skin first. 

Begin by cleansing and exfoliating your skin.  This will allow the makeup to set more smoothly. Next, use 2-3 drops of our new Bakuchiol Plus Serum right after cleansing while the skin is still damp.  This will allow the serum to penetrate more deeply into skin as it dries.

Bakuchiol is a natural vegan alternative to retinol and it’s so gentle that even the most sensitive skin can use it to smooth fine lines and brighten skin tone.  

After the serum, apply a layer of our Collagen Revitalizing Creme. This creme combines rich oils, peptides, marine extracts and bakuchiol to help skin look and feel hydrated and smooth.  

Now here’s the trick – apply another 2-3 drops of Bakuchiol Plus Serum on top of the Collagen Revitalizing Creme. That’s right – another application of this water-less serum right on top of the cream will lock in moisture and help support your skin’s barrier. This technique is used by estheticians to help build hydration in the skin.  With two applications of Bakuchiol Plus Serum, your makeup will stay fresher longer and it’ll help prevent any skin-staining makeup colors from absorbing into skin.

Second Trick 

If you want your makeup to last all day and night, you must use a makeup primer before applying your makeup.  Reviva Labs Makeup Primer visibly “perfects” skin by transforming your complexion into a flawless canvas for makeup. Just 2 to 3 drops all over your face will help conceal pores, reduce the look of fine lines, and help makeup last longer.  Your makeup will glide onto the face and stay in place for hours.  Plus, it’s safe under eye shadow!  It’s also completely fragrance-free and non-comedogenic so it won’t clog pores or cause breakouts.

Third Trick

Once your makeup application is complete, be sure to set it with our Rose Hibiscus Hydrating Mist.  This lightweight spray mist provides hydration with hyaluronic acid along with some aloe to keep makeup from flaking off or streaking.  Formulated with a combination of organic and botanical oils, you can spray it on your face, body or even your hair.  As an added treat, we recommend using this mist as a natural, refreshing spray toner after taking your makeup off for the night.

Fourth Trick

Removing thick, cakey Halloween makeup will require some extra attention and care. The trick is not to use water first.  Instead, place a small amount of Reviva Labs Cleansing Milk on a cotton pad and wipe makeup away while the skin is dry.  When used on a dry skin, Cleansing Milk helps to melt away dirt and makeup as it penetrates deep into the pores to clean skin.  After the heavy makeup is cleared away, wash skin again with Cleansing Milk to leave the skin immaculately clean.  Then follow with your normal nighttime skin care products.
