Christmas is a great time for gifting skin care. Body lotions, moisturizers, and serums given individually or in gift sets. Personally, I seldom enter a Bath & Bodyworks store until the Christmas season arrives. To be honest, it was always my go to gift idea when I wasn’t sure what to get someone – a gift basket of skin care… or perhaps an assortment of candles.

Of course, since working for and at Reviva Labs, I now know better, that is I spend too much time reading ingredients. And the gift sets of Christmases past were loaded with no no ingredients and way too much fragrance. Instead, now I gravitate to gifting cleaner, more beneficial skin care; and yes, the occasional candle too. Here’s my five top skincare ingredients I’ll be gifting for Christmas this year

Charcoal

While traditionally, charcoal (i.e., coal) is undesirable as a Christmas gift, it’s not if you’re gifting Reviva’s Charcoal skin care products. Our Bamboo Charcoal Exfoliating Mask is a wonderful at home spa treatment that offers tremendous benefits. You can luxuriate as you soak in the top, with your mask, or simply lie in bed reading. Easy on and easy off it’ll help deep cleanse and gently exfoliate your complexion to reveal improved & healthy-looking skin.

Or choose between Reviva’s delightfully decadent Coconut Charcoal Moisturizing Day Crème or our hedonistic Activated Charcoal Time Release Night Crème. These seemingly simple moisturizers offer the potent benefits charcoal, green tea, tea tree, and more. Either are terrific stand-alone products or work well into any existing regimen.

And don’t neglect starting off your skincare routine with our gentle Bamboo Charcoal Pore Minimizing Cleansing Gel. It helps to remove impurities while it deep cleanses your skin.

Oranges

The tradition of giving an orange in your stocking is ages old. But this year, you can take it up a notch and offer oranges in a new, more tantalizing form factor. Our Elastin Collagen Body Lotion offers a delightfully light orange scent derived from orange oil. It’s subtle and natural and it’s delivered with the potent benefits of this moisturizing and firming body lotion. This lotion includes resveratrol, dmae, elastin, collagen and lots of skin benefitting moisturizers. We’re positive your gift recipient will be delighted… but you can always gift them an actual orange too – for a quick healthy Vitamin C boost!

Bearberry

This tiny, green shrubbery is prevalent across North American, Asia, and Europe. Its tiny berries are edible by humans (and a favorite of bears) while its leaves have been used in herbal medicine for millennia. You’ll find bearberry used in our Dark Spot Brightening Serum as one of its eight potent skin brightening ingredients. This serum is a wonderful way to brighten up anyone’s holiday, figuratively and literally. Imagine your recipients delight when you gift them skincare to brighten and improve dark spots, uneven skin tone, while improving clarity and their skin’s radiance. That’s a win win!

Grapes

Ok, we’re not actually gifting grapes, but the super beneficial extract resveratrol. This powerful antioxidant and anti-aging ingredient have been shown to offer numerous skin benefits.  You’ll find it in many of Reviva’s skin care formulas – but one that works well, especially in the dry, cold wintry weather of the Northeast (where we’re located) is our Antioxidant Day Crème. This daily moisturizer helps defend against future damage to your skin’s appearance with its unique antioxidant complex featuring Alpha Lipoic Acid, Vitamins C & E, Green Tea, Niacinamide, and Resveratrol. And after you’ve moisturized, go ahead, and imbibe some resveratol the more traditional way – by drinking a glass of red wine!

Pumpkin

It’s not Christmas without a slice of pumpkin pie, right? Well for me, you might find us snacking away on a slice while we’re also wearing a layer of our Fruit Enzyme Mask. This BHA infused facial mask features pumpkin, pineapple, and papaya enzymes to help dissolve dead skin cells. And its lovely hint of mango extract will have you relaxed and feeling pampered during the stressful holiday season.

Well, these are the key ingredients I’m looking to gift to my friends and family this year. Any of these “ingredient themed” skin care solutions would certainly make terrific Christmas gifts (or Chanukah, etc.). Plus, you can continue to pamper yourself the rest of the year. And imagine how great you’ll look in the New Year!
