Apply evenly and liberally over face and/or neck. Allow to dry completely (typically 10-15 minutes) until mask is dry to the touch (the mask may fade to clear as it dries). When fully dry, remove using a warm, damp cloth or rinse off with warm water.
The mask is recommended for weekly use as a complexion-boosting treatment step rather than a daily product, though its gentle enzyme-based exfoliation makes it suitable across a broad range of skin types including normal, aging, uneven, and blemish-prone skin. It appears in recommended routines for normal skin, aging skin, and uneven skin, reflecting its versatility as a tone-improving, luster-restoring treatment. The inclusion of sodium hyaluronate, aloe vera, safflower seed oil, and sweet almond oil ensures that the mask nourishes and conditions the skin while it exfoliates, so even drier skin types can benefit without experiencing post-mask tightness or discomfort. Green tea leaf extract and chamomile flower extract provide additional antioxidant and soothing support that help keep the experience calm and the post-mask complexion comfortable, balanced, and visibly refreshed.
View FAQThe directions note that the mask may fade to clear as it dries, which is a normal characteristic of the formula and not an indication that the product has stopped working. The initial opaque appearance comes from the clay minerals and the emollients in the formula, but as moisture evaporates during the drying process, the film-forming components become more translucent. The enzymatic activity continues throughout the drying period regardless of the mask’s visible color. The mask is ready for removal when it is dry to the touch, which typically takes ten to fifteen minutes, and at that point the clays have completed their absorption work and the enzymes have had sufficient contact time with the skin’s surface. Removal is done with a warm, damp cloth or by rinsing with warm water, both of which gently lift the dried mask material away without requiring harsh scrubbing.
View FAQEach of the three fruit-derived ingredients brings its own specific enzymatic and antioxidant profile to the formula. The Lactobacillus/Pumpkin Ferment Extract is rich in antioxidants and beta-carotene, which help improve the appearance of damaged skin, uneven tone, and the visible signs of aging while the fermentation process enhances its bioavailability and skin-compatibility. Bromelain, derived from pineapple, carries antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties alongside its exfoliating action, making it particularly useful for skin that tends toward congestion or blemishes. Papain from papaya provides additional anti-inflammatory soothing benefits and is widely recognized as one of the most effective naturally derived exfoliating enzymes available. Together, the three enzymes create a broader and more thorough exfoliating effect than any single enzyme could deliver on its own, while the antioxidant content from each source works collectively to support a more luminous and even-toned complexion.
View FAQThe dual-clay base addresses a different but equally important aspect of skin health by drawing out impurities, absorbing excess sebum, and clearing surface congestion while the enzymes work on cellular turnover. Kaolin is the gentler of the two clays, absorbing oil and detritus without stripping moisture, making it compatible with a wide range of skin types including normal and dry. Bentonite is a naturally occurring mineral clay that forms a gel-like consistency when mixed with liquid, creating the characteristic mask texture that adheres to the skin as it dries. As bentonite dries, it draws pore-clogging material toward the surface, helping to clear and minimize the appearance of congested pores. The combination of enzymatic exfoliation from the fruit extracts and deep cleansing from the clay base is what makes this mask capable of addressing both surface texture and underlying impurities in a single treatment.
View FAQPhysical scrubs rely on abrasive particles to manually buff the skin’s surface, and acid-based exfoliants use chemical reactions to dissolve dead skin cell bonds. Fruit enzyme exfoliation works through a third mechanism entirely: proteolysis, which is the enzymatic digestion of the keratin proteins that make up dead, dull skin cells. Bromelain from pineapple, papain from papaya, and the pumpkin ferment extract in this mask each contain naturally occurring enzymes that selectively break down and lift away the outermost layer of lifeless cells without touching healthy, living skin underneath. This selectivity is what makes enzyme exfoliation particularly gentle and well-tolerated, even by skin types that find acid-based or physical exfoliants too aggressive. The result is a brighter, smoother, more even-looking complexion without the irritation that harsher exfoliation methods can introduce.
